New to Cup Half Full? Start here!
Calling all: crunchy ladies, mindful mamas, wellness seekers, & nature enthusiasts!
Cup Half Full is named after the optimistic point of view that the glass is always half full.
Perspective is HUGE in our health & quality of life - and so are our choices, but it can be tricky to navigate modern living in a way that honours our whole being. Nowadays, we have questions and health considerations our great-grandparents wouldn’t even recognise and the further we stray from nature’s rhythm, the less in tune we seem to be.
This is why I became a doctor and also why I created Cup Half Full - I believe we owe it to ourselves to learn how to navigate a changing world, honor nature, and live vibrantly.

A little about me…
Hi! I’m Chesica 😊
I’m a doctor & nutritionist - specialising in natural and preventive medicine, an ex-horse whisperer (yes, really!), and above all, a mother trying to lead by example in living a full and healthy life. A few years ago, I took a big leap of faith and moved to Germany to start over. While my rural roots & medical studies already had me embracing a health-conscious way of life, the challenges I met in a new culture led me to embrace slow living as a part of a healthy, nature-oriented lifestyle… and I haven’t looked back!
My background in psychology, animal behavior, and life coaching have taught me a great deal about helping people and horses. After finishing my doctoral studies and working in clinical practice, I studied for a masters degree in nutrition and Functional Medicine. I love teaching about wholesome lifestyle medicine and really just can’t seem to shut up about plants, animals, and the healing power of diet.
While I have had some wonderful opportunities academically and professionally, I’m first and foremost:
A health-conscious Christian wife & mother,
An animal lover & nature enthusiast,
A believer in the magic & necessity of connection with the natural world.
I’m doing my best each day to fit into a foreign culture🇩🇪, be a great, cool and crunchy mom/friend/neighbour and, I’d love to connect if you can relate to any of that!

Hello, my name is Emily! I write about Slow & Gentle Living. I love your quote 'Natural Living in a modern world' - I love that so much! I a so happy to be here and absolutely agree, the cup is always half full !
Hi Chesica! I’m Kelsey. I also have a background in animal behavior, psychology and life coaching. I went on a detour and have my masters in marine biology, then came back to coaching. I’m also a huge nutrition nerd. I write at Find Your Awesome with Kelsey Abbott where I use Human Design and coaching to help people remember who they really are and live their best lives ever. And I started a brand new second substack two days ago (Find Your Awesome Sauce) to share gluten free plant-based recipes and other silliness. I’m so excited to discover your substack!
